Kid’s Summer Garage Sale
Kids, turn your outgrown toys and games into spending money! Bring your own table and chairs or we’ll provide them for you.  Hurry, space is limited! Please don’t bring household items, infant items, or adult clothing to sell. Everyone is welcome to come shop - free popcorn and lemonade for all!

Jackson Street Sounds
Musicians, Poets, Vocalists, and those who love a good night out, join us for Jackson Street Sounds at the Little White School Museum on Thursday nights.  We will have an open mic night for anyone looking for stage time and a chance to show their stuff.  Sign-ups for anyone interested in performing begin at 6:00.  Each artist has 10 minutes of set time.  All skill levels welcome!

Slow Food Harvest Dinner
No fast food on the menu here, only the freshest ingredients with an emphasis on locally grown items. Slow down and enjoy a harvest feast. Your meal will be prepared by Whole Foods’ Chefs Ryan Stover and Kevin Corbett. Guests will dine alfresco, and enjoy live music. Menu will include Cucumber Mint Soup, Heirloom Tomato Salad with Fresh Buffalo Mozzerella, Carolina Style BBQ and Cole Slaw, Assorted Pickled Veggies, Sun Berry Pie, and Sweet Tea, Iced Tea, or Lemonade. *Menu subject to change based on ingredient availability. For families who would like to attend, a special Kids Meal will be available.

Sports Cleat Clamor
Now taking Baseball and Soccer Cleats! Your baby’s feet are growing faster than zucchinis and you already have a closet full of outgrown athletic shoes and shin guards! Let’s make the cleat connection! Drop off your outgrown cleats at the Civic Center anytime the week of August 16-21, get a ticket and try for a pair that fits. Come back on Tuesday, August 24 from 5:30-7pm.

Do you have an athlete who is testing the waters of soccer?  No need to buy new shoes, come buy a pair of gently used shoes.  Anyone without items to swap may purchase shoes or shin guards for $5 on Tuesday, August 24 from 6:00-7:00pm.

Fox River Canoe Trip
Enjoy the beauty of the Fox River! We will float and paddle a scenic 5 mile stretch of the Fox River from Yorkville to Silver Springs State Park. Space is limited for this great event, so register early! We will meet at Freeman’s Canoe Rental in Yorkville. The Park District will provide transportation back to your car at the end of the adventure! (return approx. 2-3 hr.)

Gingerbread House Party at Pearce’s
Pearce’s is open all Saturday morning. Come by anytime from 9am to Noon and make some edible holiday art! Satisfy your sweet tooth and start your holiday decorating! The Foreman Fee includes all materials necessary to build your Gingerbread home, including cookie and candy decorations, freshly made icing by Pearce’s chefs, and foundation base. The Assistant Fee is for guests who will not be building their own house, but will be attending to assist a Foreman. Enjoy coffee, tea, or juice, and some sweets too. Fee is per person, everyone building their own house must register for the Foreman Fee, assisting guests should register for the Assistant Fee.
