Passport to Play
Your family adventure begins here! Tour the sights and sounds of Oswegoland this summer. Visit a combination of 13 parks while snapping pictures along the way, and then bring your Passport to any office to receive a stamp for each location. There will be prizes and a chance to win $100 towards your Fall 2013 program registration! $5 covers your family’s entry fee. Register and pick up your Passport Pack beginning May 25. Winners will be announced on Friday, August 23.

Oswego Garden Walk
Oswego will be in full bloom this summer at the Oswego Garden Walk. This summer afternoon begins with lunch at Pearce’s Pavilion at Fox Bend. Buses will take groups to five different exquisite gardens in our neighborhoods. Walk on the wild flower side this June! All proceeds of this event will benefit the Oswegoland Park and Recreation Foundation. Register online.

Terror Trail Run at Saw Wee Kee
Just Keep Running! We’ve got a four mile run through trails you just don’t see in Illinois. Halfway through this race you won’t know what country you are in or what year it is. You will just know you have to keep running. This race is not for children, the squeamish, or those who check the back seat of their car before driving at night. Cost includes post race eats, a drink, and a clean pair of pants. Check in at Fox Bend Golf Course, 3516 Route 34, Oswego. Buses will bring you to race start. Sports Cleat Clamor
Now taking Baseball and Soccer Cleats! Your baby’s feet are growing faster than zucchinis and you already have a closet full of outgrown athletic shoes and shin guards! Let’s make the cleat connection! Drop off your outgrown cleats at the Civic Center anytime between August 2-9, get an exchange ticket. Come back on Monday, August 12 from 5:30-7pm. with your ticket and try for a new pair. Do you have an athlete who is testing the waters of soccer? No need to buy new shoes, come buy a pair of gently used shoes. Anyone without items to swap may purchase shoes or shin guards for $5 on Monday, August 20 from 6:00-7:00pm.

Road Rally of Parks
Free Road Rally through parks of Oswego! Families and treasure hunt lovers will have a great time! Pick up Clue #1 at the Civic Center desk anytime between 4:30-6:30pm. There will be hot dogs, drinks, games, and activities at the parks you visit. We will lead you to parks throughout the entire district! Be prepared for a great time! Last clues handed out at 6:30pm.

Wild West Family Day
There’s something for everyone, from the oldest to the youngest Cowboy and Cowgirl! Take a step back to the Old West and experience Tractor Pulled Hay Rides and Horse Rides. Try your hand at the Branding Station, Panning for Gold, Calf Roping, and many other Old West events. When you a need a break, concessions will be available for purchase. All cowfolk, ages 12 and under, who pre-register will receive a cowboy hat at check-in. Everyone attending will need to register. Pre-registration accepted through August 22.
