“As We Grow” Preschool
We are now registering for the 2013/2014 School Year!
Thoroughly 3’s program introduces children to the classroom setting where children can feel safe away from their parents. Emphasis is placed on social interaction, emotional growth and learning through play. Children learn to follow directions and take turns. Fine motor skills are strengthened through the use of manipulatives. Children are introduced to letters and numbers and are encouraged to explore various art materials.
Pre-Kindergarten classes for four year olds places greater emphasis on readiness skills needed for kindergarten including language, phonics, reading, and math concepts. Classes are designed to help children learn and grow in a stimulating and enriching environment. Children learn to identify both upper case and lower case letters, as well as the sounds each letter makes through the help of the Jolly Phonics program. Journaling promotes creativity as well as early writing skills. Math readiness goals include sequencing patterns and categorizing objects, one to one correspondence, identifying size relationships, and recognizing numbers. Large and fine motor skills are refined through the use of specific activities targeted to develop muscle control. Children are encouraged to problem solve, make decisions, and resolve conflicts appropriately which fosters independence and self confidence. Further exploration of art and science materials, as well as circle time and free play helps promote all aspects of a child’s development. Junior Kid's Connection, extended care also available!
