What's New!

Northampton Park
Northampton Park is getting a makeover this spring! The new, accessible playstructure includes two slides, five climbers, turning bar, play panels, and two play events not found at any other park - a Gyro Twister and Star Seeker that will provide new experiences for kids of all ages. Swings, a Bobble Rider, benches, and poured-in-place rubberized surfacing complete the improvements. The basketball court will be sporting a fresh coat of paint, and the redesigned sitting area and new accessible picnic table will provide a place for you to relax as you watch the kids enjoy the new playground.

Boulder Point
When preschoolers return to class at Boulder Point in the fall, they will be able to play on a new accessible playstructure. The poured-in-place rubberized surface will add a bounce to their play experience! View the 3D drawing of the playstructure.

Prairie Point Community Park
There is plenty to keep you busy at Prairie Point Community Park this spring and summer. The newest improvements, which were completed this spring, are outfield fencing and electronic scoreboards for two of the ballfields. Other facilities at the park include two fullcourt basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts with a sand shower, four ballfields (two fields are lighted for night play), soccer practice fields, concrete skate park, asphalt biking/walking trails, drinking fountains, small picnic shelter, and large group picnic shelter with restrooms. The splash pad will open in May with a special Grand Opening to be held on July 21st! Trees and grass were planted last fall and are already thriving thanks to the early warm spring!

During the winter, the sledding hill got a lot of use on the few days there was enough snow cover. We hope there are a few more opportunities for sledding this winter. Come check out your community park. There is something for every member of the community to enjoy.

Townsend Park

Our newest neighborhood park is now open as well. There is a new accessible playground, tot structure, and swings—all on an accessible rubberized surface. The sandbox with diggers, benches, trash receptacles, picnic shelter with two tables and a bbq grill, a .45 mile asphalt walking path, two halfcourt basketball courts, a skateboard spot, baseball backstop, soccer goals, landscaping, and a drinking fountain round out the list of the new features.

Heritage Park: Little White School Museum
Come and see the new outdoor additions to this Oswego gem. A new clay paver entry graces the front of the museum. The new design also incorporates historic signs and markers in a more prominent way. The Heritage Perennial Garden on the east side of the museum has a new clay paver walk with benches to rest and take in the beauty of all the flowers. Two interpretive signs in the park tell the story of the Little White School and the unique history of the perennial garden. The project also included new landscaping and lighting to enhance the architecture of the museum and its setting in the park.

Civic Center Park
We are excited about the recent renovation of the Civic Center Park playground. The new construction included a handicap accessible playground with four slides, eight climbers, activity panels, swings, poured-in-place rubberized surface, and ramps to provide wheelchair access. A small shelter with two tables and bbq grill, sitting area, benches and walkways complete the improvements. View the site plan.
