What's New!
Community Park at Grande Park
Construction has begun on a new 58’ diameter Picnic Shelter for the Community Park at Grande Park in Plainfield. The new shelter with electricity will include picnic tables and two new outdoor grills. A new bike path and sidewalks will create easy access from anywhere in the park. Construction will be complete before the end of the year.

Northampton Park
Newly renovated Northampton Park is open for play! The new, accessible playstructure includes two slides, five climbers, turning bar, play panels, and two play events not found at any other park - a Gyro Twister and Star Seeker that will provide new experiences for kids of all ages. Swings, a Bobble Rider, benches, and poured-in-place rubberized surfacing complete the improvements. The redesigned sitting area and new accessible picnic table will provide a place for you to relax as you watch the kids enjoy the new playground. The basketball court surface was also redone and looks good as new!

Boulder Point
Construction is complete on Boulder Point’s first playground, turning a portion of the parking lot into an enjoyable play space for our preschool program. The poured-in-place rubberized surface under the new accessible playstructure adds a bounce to the preschoolers play experience! Trees, perennials, and benches make for a more park-like play area. Prairie Point Community Park
There is plenty to keep you busy at Prairie Point Community Park this summer. The newest and exciting improvement to the park is the new splash pad! Outfield fencing and electronic scoreboards were installed for two of the ballfields as well. Other facilities at the park include two fullcourt basketball courts, two sand volleyball courts with a sand shower, four ballfields (two fields are lighted for night play), soccer practice fields, concrete skate park, asphalt biking/walking trails including a 1.5 mile perimeter path, drinking fountains, small picnic shelter, and large group picnic shelter with restrooms.
During the winter, the new sledding hill got a lot of use on the few days there was enough snow cover. We hope there are a few more opportunities for sledding this next winter.
Come check out your community park. There is something for every member of the community to enjoy.
Townsend Park
Our newest neighborhood park is now open as well. There is a new accessible playground, tot structure, and swings—all on an accessible rubberized surface. The sandbox with diggers, benches, trash receptacles, picnic shelter with two tables and a bbq grill, a .45 mile asphalt walking path, two halfcourt basketball courts, a skateboard spot, baseball backstop, soccer goals, landscaping, and a drinking fountain round out the list of the new features.
Heritage Park: Little White School Museum
Come and see the new outdoor additions to this Oswego gem. A new clay paver entry graces the front of the museum. The new design also incorporates historic signs and markers in a more prominent way. The Heritage Perennial Garden on the east side of the museum has a new clay paver walk with benches to rest and take in the beauty of all the flowers. Two interpretive signs in the park tell the story of the Little White School and the unique history of the perennial garden. The project also included new landscaping and lighting to enhance the architecture of the museum and its setting in the park.
