The Oswegoland Park District offers a variety of dance classes for children ages 3 and up at our Boulder Point facility which features a spacious studio, spring wood floor, full-wall mirrors and mounted bars.

Our experienced instructors tailor the program toward skill development, socialization, and a group dance experience where every dancer excels.

Enjoy quality skill instruction in a supportive, encouraging, non-competitive environment with recital opportunity in the spring.

Private Dance Lessons

Having trouble finding a lesson time to fit your schedule? Private dance lessons are available for you or your child. Private lessons are just $18(R)/$23(N) for 30 minutes or $24(R)/$30(N) for 45 minutes, and you pick the time!

Dance Attire

Ballet
Students in all levels of ballet should wear a leotard, tights and leather ballet shoes.
Tap
Students in all levels of tap should wear a leotard, tights and tap shoes. Boys should wear sweat pants.
Jazz
Students should wear tennis shoes or jazz shoes and stretch or loose fitting pants. Please no jeans.
Hip Hop
Students should dress comfortably in clothing that allows free and creative movement. Tennis shoes are appropriate.

Recital

Dancers can perform in the annual spring recital held at Oswego East High School. Classes performing in the recital start in January. Costume measurements are due at the first class.

Spring session classes are also given the opportunity to perform on the Main Stage at PrairieFest!

Our instructors

Trina Monken started taking dance at the age of three in LaSalle, Qc Canada where she studied ballet. At age four, she transferred to "Les Amis De La Danse" to study jazz, tap, and ballet. Trina has attended two Dance Caravans in New York City. She became an assistant teacher for jazz and tap at 13, and by 16 years old she was teaching her own jazz class.

Stacey Cohen started dancing at three, she is trained in all areas of hip-hop, jazz, ballet, tap, pointe, and lyrical. In high school, she was captain of the varsity poms team and co-vice president of orchesis (dance team). She led poms to Nationals in Disney World, and to the State Poms Competition at University of Illinois.

Tabitha Beazley starting taking dance classes at the age of three. She attended Shirley's Dance Studio for ten years; where she studied ballet for ten years, tap for eight years, jazz for six years, lyrical for a year, and gymnastics for five years. Tabitha has competed in many competitions and has won 1st or 2nd place every year. She started teaching ballet, tap, hip-hop, and gymnastics at the Plainfield Park District when she was 16.

Letitia Chenoweth's background in dance includes: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, pointe, modern, lyrical, and tumbling.  Letitia attended Millikin University where she majored in Elementary Education and minored in Dance.  While at Millikin University, Letitia was a member of the Baby Blue Pom Pon Squad and dancer/choreographer in Dance Concert pieces for the university.  Upon graduating Letitia worked for the Kankakee School District where she was the Dance Department Head for the Fine Arts Magnet School. 

Jeri Ford grew up dancing! At the age of 10, she performed in the musical "Electric Park" held at PHS.  While attending Plainfield High School, Jeri was a member of the dance team.  In the summers of 2002 and 2004, Jeri was selected to take part in the UDA All-Stars Program. She was also a member of North Central College dance team in 2005. Jeri taught a hip-hop company in 2004 that received many awards and bids to nationals.  Her dance philosophy is it that it comes from the inside as natural as walking and breathing.  She looks forward to working with your kids and sharing her love and knowledge of dance.
