Just because it’s getting colder and the holiday season is near doesn’t mean we can’t have fun outside. With all the cookies and pumpkin pies, it takes a little extra effort to keep balance with our active lives. So on November 12 bust out those jogging shoes and tap into your inner turkey.
Gobbler Hobbler 10K
The Gobbler Hobbler is a chip-timed 10K on a USATF certified course. Check-in is at Fox Chase Elementary and the race begins at Wormley Heritage Park. The route runs along various park paths and through neighborhoods of Oswego and Boulder Hill. Check out the entire course in the video below! At the race everyone will be awarded a walking pancake (pancakes are not allowed to run in this event).
Mashed Potato Mile
If you don’t want to take on the entire 10K then get those legs pumpkin on the Mashed Potato Mile. This is a great option for simply making a fun time out of a cool autumn day. The first-place runner for male and female will each be awarded a bowl of mashed potatoes at the finish line. Who doesn’t want a dense bowl of mashed potatoes after running a mile?
Swag
We never have a cracking good event without even better swag! Every participant who pre-registers is guaranteed a 2017 Gobbler Hobbler hoodie. If you’ve seen them from the past years, they’re pretty gourd-geous. If you pre-register then you are guaranteed a hoodie. Pre-registration ends on October 31. Also, awards for first, second, and third place for male and female in each division will be announced before 11:00am the day of the race. Don’t miss out on the gear that’s good as gravy.
Turkey Raffle
You can’t get your gobble on without there being a turkey tossed in somewhere. We didn’t manage to have any live turkeys on site, but there is a raffle for a free Thanksgiving Day turkey. All you have to do is run your run, and the turkey will find its way to the winner. The fastest 10K time for male and female will also be awarded a plump holiday bird.
