On July 24, 25, 26 and 27 the Camp Connection program participated in Camp Kindness events. This is a new event highlighting the practice of intentional kindness that happens every day at American camps around the world. The American Camping Association is working in cooperation with Kindness Evolution to take a stand for a positive shift in our nation.
Focusing on our youth and young adults, Camp Kindness Day showcased the commitment of the camp community to fostering the core values of kindness, compassion, generosity and care, while integrating those values more fully into every aspect of our society. These values are already part of the core values of the Camp Connection experience.
We share the mission for our youth to be nurtured, taught, supported and inspired to grow into our new generation of kind, compassionate, socially-minded, community-oriented citizens. Camp Kindness Day was incorporated into the Camp Connection programming with fun theme-based activities and delivering homemade tasty treats to our First Responders, local seniors, and Oswegoland Park District staff who all create memorable moments and make a positive impact in our campers’ lives.
