COVID-19 UPDATE MAY 15

COVID Update

SUMMER UPDATES

The Oswegoland Park District Board and Staff continue to weigh the health, safety, and operational challenges that have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. In accordance with Governor Pritzker’s extended Stay at Home Order and the “Restore Illinois” plan to reopen our state, the following decisions and modifications are being made for summer to adhere to the Governor’s order and in an effort to help contain the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

SUMMER CATALOG & PROGRAMS
The online version of the Summer Play Book continues to be updated frequently to reflect programming changes. Once the Governor’s Stay at Home order is lifted and new guidelines are released for public gatherings, our staff will be able to modify our programs accordingly. Please check the online version for the most current information.

In the meantime, our recreation staff have planned Stay Local, Play Local – Virtual Programs for May and have gathered a Play List of resources you can access via our website to keep your family active.

SWIMMING POOLS
We are awaiting direction from the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) concerning the operation of pools. The operational and financial challenges related to operating pools under social distancing protocols are being reviewed and evaluated. Once the District has enough information to make a decision, we will communicate further.

SUMMER CAMP CONNECTION
Registration for our Summer Camp Connection program has been paused at this time. Staff is closely monitoring recommendations from health officials and will be modifying camp activities as necessary to ensure a safe and enriching camp experience. Auto-payments for the June session will not be processed until we have a reopening date in place. Online registrations will also resume at that time.

RENTALS & RESERVATIONS
Park Shelter and Facility Rentals are not being accepted at this time. Once we return to regular business hours, we will begin taking reservations.

FOX BEND GOLF COURSE
Operations at Fox Bend Golf Course resumed on May 1 under strict guidelines from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity. Visit the Fox Bend Golf Course website for additional information or to book your tee time online.

OSWEGO COUNTRY MARKET
The opening of the Oswego Country Market has been moved to Sunday, June 28. Based on guidance provided by the Illinois Farmers Market Association and Kendall County Health Department, we will be making the temporary shift towards a transactional setup that complies with social distancing guidelines and aligns with the “In & Out” style many markets are implementing this year.

TENNIS/PICKLEBALL & DISC GOLF REOPENING
As of today Friday, May 15 all Tennis/Pickleball Courts will reopen for SINGLES PLAY ONLY. View complete rules for the Tennis/Pickleball Courts. The Eagle Ridge Disc Golf Course will also reopen for socially distanced play. If players do not respect court rules or social distancing guidelines, these amenities may be closed to further use.

PARKS, TRAILS & OTHER AMENITIES
In order to help maintain a healthy lifestyle, Parks and Trails REMAIN OPEN for walking, jogging, and biking provided social distancing guidelines are adhered to. Playgrounds, Basketball Courts, Volleyball Courts, Skate Parks, and Athletic Fields REMAIN CLOSED at this time.

Staff continues to perform essential services such as mowing and trash collection in our parks during the Stay at Home order. We ask that you help our staff by minimizing the trash left in our parks. Please use the proper trash receptacles or carry out any litter from your visit including tissues, gloves, or pet waste.
