Notice to our Kendall County Residents
This May, the Oswegoland Park District became aware of an error in taxes that were due to the District. The District immediately reached out to the Office of the Kendall County Clerk, which acknowledged that they had incorrectly entered the Park District’s 2020 Levy, listing it as 0.39960% instead of 0.43403% or a difference of approximately $25.80 per $100,000 of assessed value.
The Park District remained in communication with the Kendall County Clerk’s office, awaiting their decision as to how they would resolve the entry error. On Friday, September 17 the Park District was notified that the Kendall County Treasurer would be sending a letter to affected residents, informing them that the omitted funds would be included as a prior year adjustment with their regular 2022 Tax Bill.
This is not a new tax, nor the result of any additional tax imposed by the Park District. It is the remaining portion of the approved 2020 Tax Levy that was incorrectly reflected on 2021 Tax Bills.
Please visit the Park District’s Tax Levy Omission FAQs webpage for additional information.
