History:
Violet Patch Park, a community park located along the east side of the Fox River, was donated by Fox Valley Park District in 1995.
Master Plans
The Oswegoland Park District worked with Hitchcock Design Group to create Master Plans for select parks and trails within the District. It is important for Park Districts to have these plans prepared to take advantage of funding opportunities when they become available such as grants or donations. The following parks were found to have enhancement opportunities that would benefit residents throughout the District. Violet Patch Park is a riverfront community park located along the Fox River Trail. The park’s existing amenities include a parking lot and shelter; making it a prime location for additional trail amenities and recreational opportunities. Proposed new site amenities include game tables, a bike repair station, a bench with the capability to charge electronic devices, and a “Chat Bench,” which gives park users the opportunity to initiate a conversation with each other. Potential new recreational opportunities include fitness equipment, boulder play climber, baggo game station, fishing outcropping/overlook, and canoe/kayak launch off of the parking lot. The design shows native violet flower gardens curving among the new amenities, reestablishing the wildflower that was the park’s original namesake. View the Violet Patch Park Master Plan.
