Meet The Preschool Coordinator!

Krista Casanovas

Krista has been at the Oswegoland Park District for 7 years and in the education field for 20 years. She started at the Park District as a preschool teacher before accepting the Preschool Coordinator position. Her passion is mentoring teachers and helping students begin their education with a love of learning in the classroom. She graduated from the University of Michigan-Dearborn with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and holds a Montessori diploma in early childhood. She is looking forward to working with the families in our preschool and helping nurture the whole child.

 

 

Meet Your Teachers!

Anita Scheidecker

Anita joined the As We Grow Preschool team in 1995. Anita has completed 51 semester hours of Early Childhood Education at Waubonsee Community College and attends annual training conferences.

 

 

 

April Strait

April has worked for Oswegoland Park District since 2015. April has a Bachelors in Elementary Education from North Central College, and has been teaching early childhood for over 16 years.

 

 

 

 

Ashley Leo

Ashley has worked for the Oswegoland Park District since 2004 and began teaching for As We Grow Preschool in 2006. Ashley received her Associates Degree from Waubonsee Community College majoring in education. Watching the children grow over the school year is a part of the position she treasures.

 

 

 

Cheryl Frederick

Cheryl has been with the Oswegoland Park District since 2009. Cheryl enjoys the different stages of child development.  She takes pride in being a part of the lives and growth of the children enrolled in Oswegoland Park District programs.

 

 

 

Heather Eberle

Heather is one of the nature-based preschool teachers. She has an Elementary Certificate from Trinity College and a BA from Augustana College with a biology major.  This is Heather’s 5th year with the Oswegoland Park District.  During this time, Heather has been a preschool teacher, substitute teacher, and teacher for a variety of enrichment classes.

 

 

 

Jen McAleer

Jen has been with the Park District since 2011. In addition to teaching preschool, Jen has been a preschool teaching assistant, a teacher for enrichment classes and also teaches classes for the 2’s program.

 

 

 

 

Miranda Ambre

Miranda graduated from Augustana College in May of 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. She has been a part of a number sense program with children in kindergarten, a two-month literacy intervention with first and second graders, as well as spent time in classrooms of varying grade levels to learn more about teaching.  She also had the opportunity to study abroad in Jamaica and work in the Alpha Schools of Kingston. She is very excited to get to know all of her students this year in Thoroughly Three’s!  

 

 

Karen Allen

Karen is one of the nature-based preschool teachers. She has a BA degree in Elementary Education with an art concentration and has worked with the Oswegoland Park District since 2010. This is going to be her sixth year teaching preschool and she is eager to watch the children grow throughout the course of the year.

 

 

 

Lisa Perreault

Lisa taught Preschool for a couple of years before taking a break to have children. This is her first year as a teacher with the As We Grow Preschool Program. She is very eager to share her love of learning with her students. Lisa graduated from Saint Xavier University in Chicago with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education.

 

 

 

 

Marcee Martinez

Marcee has been teaching preschool since 1997 and joined the As We Grow Preschool program is 2014. She received an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education, and has her Paraprofessional Certification as well.

 

 

 

 

 

Melissa Yackley

Melissa began teaching with the Oswegoland Park District in 2017. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from the University of St. Francis. She has taught preschool for 5 years prior to coming to the Oswegoland Park District. She is looking forward to watching the children learn and grow throughout the year.
