Oswego Country Market

Every Sunday, June through September, downtown Oswego opens up for the Oswego Country Market. This fresh air market is the best place to shop each week for locally grown produce, fresh farm eggs, raw honey, delicious Wisconsin cheese, and fresh baked bread. While spending time downtown, stop to visit the many stores open during the Oswego Country Market. View the list of vendors.

Monday Miles

Monday Miles is free to all participants this year. Monday Miles will be a fun way to be active by running or walking 1, 2, or 3 miles each Monday evening from 6/7-8/9. Come to seven or more Mondays and earn a commemorative 2021 event t-shirt. Work all summer and set your goal for the final week’s bib-timed run! 6:00-6:30pm! Course will be open until 7:30pm (ZD)

PrairieFest 5K & One Mile Prairie Dog Jog

We’re back to Father’s Day in 2022! The PrairieFest 5K will get started at 8:00am with the One Mile Prairie Dog Jog starting at 8:10am. Celebrate Father’s Day with a chip-timed 5K run through Oswego’s friendly neighborhoods or the One Mile Prairie Dog Jog around Prairie Point Community Park. Medals for first through third place finishers in each age group in the 5K. All runners registered by June 9th are guaranteed a shirt. No shirts available if registered after June 9th. There are no refunds for athletic events. (ZD)

PrairieFest Quilt Show

The annual Quilt show is here again! Don’t forget to stop by the Little White School Museum during PrairieFest to see the amazing craftwork done by local quilters in both contemporary and antique creations. While you’re there, purchase a raffle ticket for your chance to win the 2022 Japanese Garden Throw Quilt made by hand by Oswegoland’s Quilter’s Dozen Club. Presented by the Quilter’s Dozen and the Oswegoland Park District.

FREE! – Face the Fox: Aurora University Special Exhibit

The Little White School Museum proudly presents a special exhibit created by undergraduate students at Aurora University entitled “Face the Fox”. This exhibit focuses on local environmentalists who preserved the ecosystem and fought for change in order to protect communities in the Fox River Valley.

Kids Go Wild Fort Building

The Little Rascals have nothing on these builders! Kids Go Wild will head to Waa Kee Sha to build forts using wood, hammers, nails, blankets, and duct tape. It’s a morning of learning skills to match their imagination as kids create and construct. Kids should bring a hammer, safety glasses, and a sack lunch. (ZD)

National Night Out

Spending time together makes our neighborhoods safer while simultaneously making it a more caring place to live. Puddle Jumpers Morning

They’ve spent the summer having fun in the sun; now let your little ones flirt with the dirt! Come with your end of the season sand and water toys and let your preschooler explore, play, dig, roll, splash and jump all without a single call to “stay out of the dirt!” Parents stay to play with their puddle jumper free of charge, older siblings must wait until Pig Pen Afternoon to play. Kids and parents should wear clothes and shoes that can be disposed of, and have protection for car seats on the way home. There’s never been a muddier time to make a pig of yourself! Slop to the top of the Pig Pen hill, slide down the slimiest muck at the Pig Pen Afternoon. Lap Swim Practice for Kids Triathlon

Those kids planning on participating in the Have Fun? You Won! Kids Triathlon can practice their swimming in the Oswego East pool in the two Sundays afternoons prior to the event. Triathletes will be swimming two laps or four lengths of the pool. Working on their preferred stroke and becoming familiar with the water is the best way to work out any nerves before Triathlon Day. Swimmers must register in advance. (ZD)

Kids Triathlon

Kids are filled with the energy to swim, bike, and run to the finish line. Coordinated in partnership with the School District’s Physical Education teachers, 3rd through 8th graders compete in this non-continuously timed event consisting of a 100m swim, a 3 mile bike ride, and a ½ mile run (7/8 graders will run 1 mile). While awards are given to the fastest in each division, the real winners are all the spirited students who bolt from the start and head towards every finish. Everyone receives a t-shirt and finisher medal. Park District athletic events are non-refundable. Registration deadline is September 15. (ZD)

June has always been a popular month for tying the knot, so why not learn about some of the most historic weddings in town? From mysterious marriages to the Womanless Wedding fundraisers, Oswegoians were always finding ways to have a good time! Join the Little White School staff at Fox Valley Winery to learn more these notorious nuptials. Registration comes with one glass of wine to enjoy during the lecture. (AJ)
