Participants and parents/guardians of participants have the ultimate responsibility to make decisions regarding participation in an activity based on weather conditions.
The Oswegoland Park District uses the following guidelines and procedures in the determination of winter weather program cancellations and facility closures.
Programs
When School District 308 classes are cancelled for the entire day due to inclement weather, Oswegoland Park District programs* may be cancelled until 12:00pm. Decisions on classes held after 12:00pm will be made by approximately 10:00am and be posted on the Weather Cancellations Page
*With the exception of Kid’s Connection which will be cancelled for the entire day.
On non-school days or during after school hours, the Park District will monitor weather conditions and facility accessibility to determine if programs will meet.
Facilities
The closure of park district facilities will be dependent upon weather conditions and facility accessibility. The Park District will monitor weather conditions and facility accessibility to determine if park district facilities will remain open. Facility closures will be posted on the Weather Cancellations Page
The above are merely guidelines; participants and parents/guardians of participants have the ultimate responsibility to make decisions regarding participation in an activity based on weather conditions.
When the Park District remains open during inclement weather, it is the decision of the individual (or parent/guardian of minors) to attend a scheduled program. Refunds are not given unless the program is cancelled by the Oswegoland Park District.
