Ways to Never Stop Learning

photography

Back to packing lunches, sending the little ones off to the bus stop, and helping with homework. Some parents are happy to have a degree of solitude return to the homestead. Regardless, the school year is an important part of the year to improve ourselves. Kids K-12 and college students are not the only ones who keep learning. We should all take a look at learning something new, whether it be a skill or sport, or gaining knowledge.

After School

Oswegoland always has extra-curricular programs running. Sports, creativity, dance, acting, and projects are important factors in building social skills and self-confidence. We are holding a variety of sewing, cooking, and science classes, in addition to our kids engineering programs this fall. A new event this year is Storytime Yoga, held on days off school. If your child is interested in learning an instrument we have a variety of private and group lessons available.

Adults Perform

Hop onto the stage and into the moment. This season’s catalog includes new performance classes for adults. Limelight Theatre Company has introduced 18 & up acting classes. Starting in late September is an Acting Fundamentals session and a one-time Improv Night. Our dance instructors have included Ballet, Tap, and Ballroom classes for beginners or those looking to sharpen their skills.

Adults Hobby

Being creative is a way for us to use different parts of our minds, find enrichment in life, and discover like-minded communities. Our sewing classes cover styles of knitting, crochet, intermediate sewing, and back to basics. Introduction and intermediate guitar classes begin late August and private guitar and voice lessons are available for booking. If you are interested in photography we offer a beginner and DSLR photography class.

Health and Wellness

We always want to offer people opportunities to better themselves and others. As a way to manage stress in our busy lifestyles, we offer a meditation class to teach ourselves to calm our minds. And if you are interested in improving your diet, we offer personal nutrition counseling. When keeping other’s well-being in mind, having lifesaving skills never has a downside. Oswegoland is always offering CPR/AED and First Aid with our incredible instructor, retired fireman Mark Ziemnik.

There are many things in life that we must do out of necessity – and those things are great. But there are many opportunities for us to extend beyond those. Taking time to explore creatively, learn new skills, sharpen talents, and take initiative for our health are the elements that further enrich our lives.
