Kid’s Connection – Remote Learning Schedule
The Oswegoland Park District, in partnership with SD308, is pleased to provide the 26th year of our Kid’s Connection program. Your child will spend the day in a safe, supervised and supportive environment, conducive to remote learning and recreational opportunities.
This program has been designed to safely meet the needs of all participants in Kindergarten through 5th grade. Participants will be provided their learning station with tables spaced at least six feet apart, and separate quiet space will be available for interactive virtual learning such as video conferencing with teachers. Your child will be supported in remote learning by SD308 staff who will assist participants in connecting to classroom meetings and help them stay on task to complete daily assignments. Kid’s Connection staff will provide support and recreational activities.
This program will allocate time for assigned schoolwork based upon the educational goals of SD308 and your child’s schedule. Daily schedules will be centered around assigned learning, with structured breaks throughout each day for meals, and indoor/outdoor recreational programs. We’ll utilize our large indoor space to safely spread out during enrichment activities, that are critical to maintaining academic focus and healthy habits. Additionally, weekly special options will be offered that encourage social, mental, and physical wellbeing.
Kid’s Connection will open on August 24 and is intended to be offered for the duration of the remote learning phase. Once SD308 returns to in-person learning, Kid’s Connection will provide before and after school care. However, this could change based upon local, state, and federal guidelines and the precise details of the return-to-learning plan of SD308.
Participants are encouraged to bring their fully charged device, charging cord, headphones that include a built-in microphone, and other traditional school supplies such as pencils, folders, and notebook paper for their participation in the SD308 remote learning portion of the day. Please contact SD308 if you have questions regarding electronic devices/requirements.

“I wanted to take a minute to thank you for everything you and your team have done for Kid’s Connection. I have had kids enrolled in Junior Kid’s Connection and Kid’s Connection at Old Post for the past three years now. I recommend it to everyone I meet, and am amazed at what a great job everyone there does. A few years ago, my daughter broke her leg and was in a full cast requiring her to be in a wheelchair. Junior Kid’s Connection welcomed her back despite the added physical struggle, and even took her on a field trip to the farm on her first day back! My son who has never been a fan of school, still talks about Junior Kid’s Connection and all he loved there. And now, despite this pandemic, you have found a way to still support the kids and working parents at an incredibly fair price. Thanks for all of the work you and everyone else have put into the program – It is greatly appreciated!” –Maureen
“My husband and I wanted your thank you guys for still offering your program during e-learning. We have both been pushing our employers as much as we can to be able to alternate staying home to take care of our child. We didn’t know what we were going you do this fall if you weren’t going to offer an alternative. Thank you for going above and beyond in providing support to help my child navigate through e-learning. You guys are life savers. Thank you again. Truly. You have no idea.” – Tom & Carrie
