PrairieFest Hosts Pet Meet and Greet

PrairieFest_Park

This June, PrairieFest will team up with area rescue groups with a lofty goal: to find homes for as many pets as possible. The community festival will host the 5th annual PrairiePaws Pet Adoption Event on Saturday, June 15 from 11:00am – 3:00pm.

PrairiePaws will help pair prospective pet owners with the right pet for their family. This cooperative effort with shelters and groups creates a free, fun atmosphere to meet potential pets. On hand  with homeless furry friends looking for love will be rescue groups from all across the Oswegoland area.

Meet dogs and cats from A Caring Place All Breed Rescue, Hedd Mutt Foundation, Help Save Pets, Hopeful Tails Animal Rescue, K-9 Enrichment Initiative, Kendall County Animal Control, Rover Rescue, and Treasured Animal Rescue.

Each participating rescue group has its own adoption procedures. Some groups will let you adopt at the event while others require a home visit. Rescue groups have various fees used to help cover costs like spay/neuter, and vaccinations to get homeless pets ready for their forever families.

Anyone looking to add a fuzzy family member or information on making a home for a new dog or cat is welcome to attend. Please contact PrairiePaws Event Coordinator Lina Bishop at 630.554.1010 with any questions.

PrairieFest offers free parking, free admission, and free concerts all weekend, June 13-16. For more information, check out prairiefest.com.
