The Oswegoland Park District, in partnership with SD308, is pleased to provide the 26th year of our Kid’s Connection program. Children will spend the day in a safe, supervised and supportive environment, conducive to remote learning and recreational opportunities.
Kid’s Connection will open on August 24 and is intended to be offered for the duration of the remote learning phase. Once SD308 returns to in-person learning, Kid’s Connection will provide before and after school care. However, this could change based upon local, state, and federal guidelines and the precise details of the return-to-learning plan of SD308.
The Kid’s Connection program has been designed to safely meet the needs of all participants in Kindergarten through 5th Grade. The Oswegoland Park District follows the IDPH guidelines as set forth by the State of Illinois to ensure the safety of our participants and staff.
The Kid’s Connection program will be available Monday-Friday from 7:00am until 6:15pm at select SD308 elementary schools. Families can select to attend two, three, or five days per week for $39 per day.
Participants will be provided a learning station with tables spaced at least six feet apart, and separate quiet space will be available for interactive virtual learning such as video conferencing with teachers.
Children will be supported in remote learning by SD308 staff who will assist participants in connecting to classroom meetings and help them stay on task to complete daily assignments. Kid’s Connection staff will provide additional support and recreational activities.
Daily schedules will be centered around assigned learning, with structured breaks throughout each day for meals and indoor/outdoor recreational enrichment activities, which are critical to maintaining academic focus and healthy habits.
Registration will open at 12:00pm on Monday, August 17.
