The District’s DEI Committee could not imagine a better way to celebrate Disability Pride Month this July than by being a part of Fox Valley Special Recreation Association’s (FVSRA) 25th Annual Day in the Park: An Inclusive Day of Play on Wednesday, July 19 at Pottawatomie Park in St. Charles.
Disability Pride Month celebrates disabled persons embracing their disabilities as integral parts of who they are and has been described as “accepting and honoring each person’s uniqueness and seeing it as a natural and beautiful part of human diversity.”
Per FVSRA, “This “Inclusive Day of Play” provided an opportunity for individuals with and without disabilities to celebrate what makes everyone unique!” Visit the FVSRA website to learn more about the Day in the Park.
Cori Veverka, Cindy Benson, Jen McFall, and Anne Jordan, all members of the District’s DEI Committee, enjoyed the opportunity to represent our agency by volunteering (and participating) at this year’s event.
