COVID-19 Update March 21

COVID Update

Ongoing Closure Information, Refunds & Credits

In accordance with Governor Pritzker’s statewide stay-at-home order to mitigate community spread of COVID-19, all Park District programs and facilities will remain cancelled/closed through April 7 or until Governor Pritzker has lifted the order.

The Park District will continue to evaluate the ongoing situation and keep the public informed as decisions are made.

Closed Until Further Notice:

  • Playgrounds, courts, skate parks, sports fields and other areas where group activities/sports typically occur
  • District facilities: Boulder Point, Civic Center, Prairie Point, South Point, and the Little White School Museum
  • Fox Bend Golf Course including the driving range
  • All programs, events, rentals, practices and games including affiliate groups

Open:

  • Parks and trails – please use social distancing to enjoy dispersed recreation

If utilizing our parks and trails, it is CRUCIAL that you follow CDC recommendations for social distancing due to COVID-19. This means keeping a 6-foot distance from others and limiting group gatherings to less than 10 people. We encourage you to enjoy fresh air and outdoor recreation through “dispersed recreation” by participating in outdoor activities AWAY from others. PARENTS, please communicate this to your children. For more information, visit CDC.gov.

Essential services such as mowing and trash collection will continue during the closure on an as-needed basis. We ask that you help our staff by minimizing the trash left in our parks.

Refunds and Credits:

Thank you for your patience and understanding. We realize this is a very uncertain time for everyone and we want to inform you of our current plans regarding refunds and credits. Affected participant accounts are being refunded automatically at this time. You do not need to request a refund.

Programs: All programs through April 7 are cancelled. Staff will be working on a plan to reschedule programs if possible. If rescheduling is not possible, accounts will be credited/refunded accordingly. Refunds may take time to process as District staff will be practicing social distancing as well.

Kid’s Connection, As We Grow Preschool, and other programs with automatic billing will NOT be charged or billed during the closure. All automatic billings and payments are suspended. The payments will resume once we reopen. Patrons who paid in full will be credited/refunded accordingly based on your child’s scheduled attendance.

Events: All events that were scheduled to take place during the closure are being refunded automatically at this time.

Rentals: Will be rescheduled or refunded without a cancellation fee.

If you have any questions regarding this information, please feel free to contact us at info@oswegolandpd.org or call and leave a message at 630.554.1010. There will not be staff on hand to answer phones during the Stay-at-Home, but we will do our best to respond as soon as possible.

Please note that the above-mentioned practices are being offered only during this special closure and are not our standard policies.

We value you as a customer and look forward to serving you again in the near future. We appreciate your patience and understanding during these unprecedented times and we hope you and your family remain healthy.
