School Year Kid's Connection
About Kid's Connection
Kid’s Connection is a recreational before and after school program offered in cooperation with Oswego Community School District 308. It is implemented by the Park District and held in the cafeterias of District 308 elementary schools with additional use of the gym and playground.
The program is available daily from 6:15am until the beginning of class and from the end of class until 6:15pm, Monday through Friday. One to five day options are available for before school, after school, or both!
Kids play games, make crafts, enjoy playground, gym, and computer time, cook, go on field trips, or choose to do homework. After school Out and About trips to different locations in our area will also be offered. Children will have the opportunity to travel to various places including local parks, other Kid's Connection sites, the library, and more during these Out and About trips. Our caring staff will provide plenty of fun in a safe, nurturing environment. Breakfast and afternoon snacks are included.
A site supervisor and adult leaders staff each Kid's Connection site in a 1:10 staff to child ratio. In addition, all staff members are:
- Caring individuals who enjoy working with school-age children
- CPR and First Aid certified staff member(s) on site at all times
- Screened and approved through the Department of Children and Family Services and at the Federal level
Kid's Connection is open most non-holiday days off school and all partial days. There is no additional charge for attendance on full days off school with the exception of Winter Break Camp and Spring Break Camp.
