At the Special Board Meeting on Thursday, December 7, the Park Board of Commissioners accepted a letter of resignation from Commissioner Dave Krahn, who will be moving out of the Oswegoland Park District community.
Initially appointed to the Board in 2014, Commissioner Krahn ran for election in 2015 and served on the Board until his term expired in 2019. Krahn then chose to run for election again in 2023.
He contributed to many initiatives during his tenure, including the installation of the District’s first pickleball courts at Briarcliff Park and the renovation of the gallery room at the Little White School Museum. He was also integral in bringing the Vietnam Moving Wall to Prairie Point Park in 2017, which led to the development of Veterans Serenity Park in 2019.
The Park District and Board would like to express their sincere gratitude to Commissioner Krahn for his countless hours of service to enhance the park and recreation opportunities of the Oswegoland Community.
The vacancy will be filled by appointment of the Park Board to serve until the expiration of this term in May 2025. The Park Board is accepting Letters of Interest through Monday, January 8, from Oswegoland Park District residents who would like to be considered to fill this vacancy.
